Reminder: Southeast Area Plan Resident Focus Groups This Week
postedAs part of the Southeast Area Plan process the City is partnering with the nINA Collective(link is external) to support the City’s public engagement efforts with residents of the planning area, including with groups of residents who historically are not well-included in public engagement processes and local government decision-making. One of the engagement strategies includes forming focus groups of residents of the Southeast Area.
Consider joining one of these focus group meetings! Participants will receive dinner and $20 stipends!
- April 8th, 5:30-7:00pm at Kennedy Elementary School, 221 Meadowlark Drive. Dinner will be provided! Register here(link is external). Note that this session is intended for Hiestand Park residents. See more about this below.
- April 9th, 5:00-6:30pm at Access to Independence, 3810 Milwaukee Street. Dinner will be provided! Register here(link is external).
- En Español: April 14, 7:00-9:00p en Mishque Cocina Peruana, 4606 Monona Drive. Se proporcionará la cena. Regístrate aquí(link is external).
Note that the April 8th session is intended for residents of the Hiestand Park neighborhood (link to map). City Planning staff identified this neighborhood as a “Community Action Strategy Area” for the Southeast Area Plan, meaning there will be some special engagement efforts here. This is because Hiestand Park is the only neighborhood in the SE planning area where more than 50% of the population has a household median income below 80% of the Dane County Median Household Income.
