Citation Payment Methods

The City of Madison offers multiple ways to address a parking citation.

This convenient online portal is available to pay your parking citation online using Visa and MasterCard.

Additionally, if computer access is needed, there are options for public computer use for online payments.

Pay In Person

The City of Madison offers one full-service payment center and four modified payment centers for your convenience.

Accepted forms of payment

Cash, Money Order, Checks (that meet certain requirements), Visa or MasterCard

If any of the following conditions exist, parking citations must be paid at the Court Services:

  • If you wish to pay with cash. Cash payments are only accepted at the Court Services.
  • If your vehicle has been impounded.
  • If you have a volume of outstanding fines that requires that our database records, be searched by Court Services Staff
  • If you are unable to submit your ticket or a copy of your late notice so that our offices may properly locate your citation and credit your payment.

Request an online review

The online review process is intended to determine if your citation was issued in error.  Some examples of this are: meter was paid, you have a valid and active permit, or you were given permission to park in the specified area. 

If you believe your citation was issued in error, please follow the process below.  

  • Fill out the online form.
  • Be sure that you submit the form within ten days of when the parking citation was issued.
  • Provide a detailed explanation of why you believe the citation was issued in error.

Please note: If your review is denied, you still have the option to request a court date.

Request a Court Date to Contest a Parking Citation

You will need to:

  • Contact Court services at (608) 266-4170 to schedule a court date.
  • Parking court is held on Tuesdays at 10:30 am and is by appointment only. If you cannot resolve your case at that initial court appearance your case will be set for trial on another date and time to be determined by the court.
