Bird & Nature Adventures | Edna Taylor
Event Description
Wild Turkey Walk ~ Join Naturalist Paul Noeldner for an easy going guided outing to learn about Wild Turkeys and what they eat for Thanksgiving dinner. Did you know a Wild Turkey's red white and blue head can change colors like a chameleon? Ben Franklin reportedly said Wild Turkeys should be our national bird instead of the Bald Eagle! Help look for large 3-toed tracks, a big brown feather, and possibly some Wild Turkeys strutting about! Many people are switching to tofu turkeys and a vegetarian diet to be kind to animals and help reduce the climate and environmental impacts of meat based diets. What other birds and wildlife are you thankful to have in your world? What do you think they are thankful for at this time of year?
Join a naturalist for an easy family-friendly walk from Aldo Leopold Nature Center into beautiful Edna Taylor Conservation Park and enjoy a bit of nature education along the way. Walk will begin at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 330 Femrite Drive. Meet outside at the Children's Shack. Co-sponsored by Madison Parks, Badgerland Bird Alliance, and Aldo Leopold Nature Center . No registration is required. No pets are allowed.
