Explore the Creek. Join Friends of Starkweather Creek for a free fun family friendly canoe outing along Starkweather Creek!  Some canoes will be provided, bring your own canoe or kayak and vest and paddles if you have the.  We will paddle along the beautiful Starkweather Creek greenway that winds through the east side of Madison.  Did you know the creek goes all the way  from Lake Monona  to MATC and East Town?  See Friends of Starkweather Creek on Facebook for  walk, bike and paddle maps and more info and post your pictures!  Join the Friends to help support and preserve this amazing urban creek greenway and bike path corridor.

Outings in the Starkweather Creek area vary each month - be sure to check the starting location. Adventures typically at 10:00am on the 3rd Saturday of the month, year-round, and frequently start at the Goodman Community Center, unless noted otherwise. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours, and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature, Goodman Community Center(link is external), and the Friends of Starkweather Creek(link is external). No registration is required. Pets are not allowed.  Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
