Golf Madison Parks, in partnership with Change Golf Instruction, provide golf instruction at City of Madison golf courses. Affordable, high-quality golf instruction is offered for all levels and abilities, including specialty classes and private instruction.
Sue Shapcott
PGA GB&I Director of Instruction, Change Golf Instruction
Although Sue Shapcott is new to Madison, she is not new to the golf industry. Sue grew up in England and represented Great Britain & Ireland in international competition before joining the professional tours. After her playing career finished, she trained as an instructor with the British PGA and was recruited in 2000 to teach for Hank Haney in Dallas, TX. Although Sue has competed at the top level, and has instructed fellow professionals, her passion as an instructor lies with grass-roots golfers. Sue holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology, and is currently a PhD candidate in Education. She researches the effects of golf instructors on their students' motivation (and tries to implement what she finds in Change Golf Instruction programming). When Sue is not teaching golf, you are likely to find her enjoying Madison's awesome music scene.
Chris Johnson
PGA Golf Instructor, Change Golf Instruction
Chris is a Class A Member of the PGA of America and Graduate of the PGA's Professional Golf Management Program. He has over 20 years of teaching experience to offer and is excited about sharing it with you. Chris is an accomplished player and has competed professionally at the state level. "My goal as your coach is to give you the tools you need to improve. I will work with you to provide the knowledge and understanding of the golf swing that you need to unlock your full potential." When Chris is not teaching golf, he enjoys spending time with his family and attending sporting events.
Ryan Brinza
PGA Golf Instructor, Change Golf Instructor
Ryan is a familiar face in Madison golf. As the former PGA Head Golf Professional for the City of Madison, Ryan comes to the Change Golf Team with a renewed passion for teaching and a desire to expand on player development programs. Ryan's primary goal is to prioritize your enjoyment of golf, no matter what your experience or abilities. Ryan is a Class A PGA Professional.
Alicia Ripp, LPGA
Golf Instructor, Change Golf Instructor
Alicia is a Class A LPGA Teaching and Club Professional. Her teaching philosophy is to help students improve their skills and develop their abilities. Her students will not only learn what they need to improve to reach their goals, but they will also learn the why behind it. Alicia's passion is developing players and watching them improve from lesson to lesson.
TJ Klement
Assistant Clubhouse Manager, Yahara Hills Golf Course
TJ played golf at McFarland High School and Edgewood College. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Business and Marketing and is currently enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. TJ developed his golf game under the guidance of local PGA professionals. He looks forward to working with you to improve your game! In his spare time, TJ enjoys playing golf and softball recreationally, as well as competing in tournaments. He also enjoys watching PGA Tour events and is a die-hard Packer, Badger and Bucks fan.
