Lead acid batteries are most often found in cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats.

Lead batteries can also come from uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and other computer, medical, lighting, or electronic devices.

You can tell if you have a lead battery by looking for the "Pb" written on them. As you may remember from high school chemistry, "Pb" is the periodic table of elements symbol for lead.

You can recycle your vehicle batteries at any retailer that sells them. Metal salvage yards also accept them.

The City of Madison drop-off sites will accept any type of lead acid battery.
