Disabled Resident Cart Roll Out Assistance Program
This is a program for residents with disabilities who struggle with placing their collection carts out for emptying.
The application to be part of the program is at the bottom of this page. Not all homes are eligible for the roll out assistance program due to their unique layout or other challenges.
Explanation of Service
If you're eligible and your application is approved to be part of the program is approved, you will be able to have your trash and recycling carts at the top of your driveway near your home. Our operators will walk up your driveway, get the carts, wheel them down to their truck, empty them, and then bring the cart back.
If you are approved to be part of the roll-out assist program, you must also follow the participation guidelines outlined below.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be unable to wheel the carts to the curb for collection
- You must not have anyone else in the home that can assist you with this work. That includes a spouse, child, or any other live-in family member, or personal assistant, or similar person.
- You must be certified by a physician as needing this assistance.
Participation Guidelines
- Carts must be placed where they can be clearly seen from the public street. They cannot be obstructed by hedges, bushes, parked cars, or any other obstructions.
- Remind visitors to your home on your trash and recycling pickup days that they should not park in front of your carts. This is a common problem.
- When out for collection, carts must not be in garages, car ports, or any other structures. Our operators will not walk into or behind buildings.
- When out for collection, the carts must be on the ground so we can wheel them directly to the truck. Do not put your carts on steps, porches, elevated patios, platforms, or any other similar situation where our operator would have to try to lower or lift the cart in order to get it to the truck for emptying.
- Winter Rule. A path must be clear of snow and ice so our operator can wheel the carts to the truck for emptying and back. If a path is not shoveled, the carts may not be collected.
