2121 Jefferson St & 1007 Edgewood Ave - Appeal Withdrawn

Hi Everyone,

The appeal of Plan Commission's demoliton permit denial has been withdrawn. 

Apparently, for whatever reason, neither the Staff nor the Plan Commission reviewed the submitted property's inspection reports when the staff report was prepared. 

The applicant has decided to withdraw their appeal and will resubmit the demolition permit application to the Plan Commission with the reports that will then be considered as part of the process.

If your intention was to testify, either in person or via Zoom, at Tuesday Common Council meeting at which the appeal was to be heard, please consider not doing so. Since this is going back to Plan Commission, most likely in Deecember, you'd be well advised to save your public comments for that meeting rather than doing so tomorrow night when Council members will not be voting on the matter.

Regarding the appeal itself, I've received many thoughtful emails from Vilas residents as well as from some D13 residents outside of VNA. There have been good arguments offered on both sides of the appeal, for and against. There have also been a handful of not-so-good, even extreme arguments, on both sides.

At any rate, I suggest we wait for the process to play itself out, reviewing the new information when the application gets resubmitted to Plan Commission.
