Project Information

Project Overview 

The City is planning to reconstruct Lowell St from W Lakeside St to S Shore Dr. The project includes the replacement of sanitary sewer main and laterals, storm sewer main and laterals and replace the connection into the lake, water main, curb and gutter replacement, driveway apron replacement, asphalt pavement, and pavement markings.

Board of Public Works: Jan. 10, 2024

The project plans, specs and assessments were approved at the January 10, 2024 Board of Public Works Meeting. The project is going back to the Board of Public Works on January 24, 2024 for approval of a revision to the plan and specs because of the addition of water main construction. The revision to the plans and specs was approved at the January 24, 2024 Board of Public Works Meeting.

Project Updates

October 27, 2024 Update

The project is complete.

October 4, 2024 Update

All underground work with sanitary main/laterals, water main/services, and storm sewer is complete. Also, all curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway concrete work is complete as well. Final placement of gravel, street grading and soil restoration will be complete the week of Oct. 7.  Final paving is scheduled the week of Oct. 7 too, but may be pushed to the week of Oct. 14 because of any forecasted inclement weather.

September 20, 2024 Update

All underground work with sanitary main/laterals, water main/services, and storm sewer is complete. Construction continues concrete curb and gutter and driveway work the week of Sept. 16 and Sept. 23. Final gravel placement will be the end of Sept. and into early Oct. with asphalt placement in early Oct.

August 20, 2024 Update

Construction continues with water main and storm sewer installation along the street. In the coming weeks, the contractor will continue with concrete removal and prepare the street with new gravel and curb and gutter.

June 12, 2024 Update

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of July 8, 2024. Further updates will be posted as work progresses.
