Starker Avenue Resurfacing with Utilities

Construction along Starker Avenue will start the week of April 7. Work start postcards have been mailed out to the neighborhood. The work consists of removing and replacing the existing pavement, base course, sanitary sewer and laterals, water main and reconnect water services to the new main, and storm sewer as well as spot replace curb and gutter, driveways, and sidewalk. The work will be completed by the end of August 2025. MG&E will also be replacing their gas main within the project limits during construction and potentially start at the end of March 2025. MGE’s work should be completed by the end of May 2025.

The City received the construction bids.  The next steps is for the Board of Public Works (12/18) and The Common Council (1/14) to approve the low bidder Coordination continues with private utilities (MGE, WIN) on their scope of work. Construction is planned for April-August 2025.

The design continues to work on final design and coordination with private utilities (MGE, WIN) on their scope of work. As that coordination continues, City Engineering has decided to move construction until 2025 and bid the project in the fall of 2024. Construction is anticipated April-August 2025.

The design team is working toward final design and anticipates the project be placed for contractor bids this June. The earliest that construction may start is September 2, 2024. The contractor will have the option to construct from Vondron Road to Droster Road in 2024 or elect to construct the entire project in 2025. When a contractor has been selected, more information will be posted.
