CCB 5th Floor Remodel
Project Details
Project Information
CCB (City County Building) 5th Floor Remodel
May 17, 2019: This project is currently on hold.
The Master Plan was to be conducted in 2018 (completed), further design was to begin in 2020 and construction in 2021. Delays to the related CCB 4th floor remodeling project and a budget analysis for the 5th floor project may require making additional adjustments to the 5th floor schedule.
The final Master Plan Design Report, dated December 28, 2018, for this project identified the following in all departments:
- Insufficient space was available for 10 year growth of the City Information Technology Department and the Department of Civil Rights
- Inefficient organization of spaces for team/section cohesiveness and supervision, particularly is that IT is spread out in 3 different areas of the 5th floor
- Insufficient internal collaboration spaces for teams/sections in IT as well as insufficient interview and hearing spaces for DCR.
The final report provided new office layouts for both departments. The new layout will realign internal office organization, and allow up to a 10 year growth. The construction estimate provided with the master plan exceeds the proposed construction budget.
The original project scope for the City County Building 5th floor remodeling project is to create a Master Plan that reviews existing City Department spaces for future design and construction phases.
