Project Update

Update 9/22/20:

Construction on this project is now complete.

Project Overview

The proposed project is a street reconstruction that will include replacement of existing pavement, replacement and construction of curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway aprons. The existing sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer laterals, and water mains will be replaced and upgraded with the project. Storm sewer will be installed where there are no existing storm sewer systems. Construction of new sidewalk will occur on the south side of Cross Street from Western Avenue to Gilmore Street.

Gregory Street: Glenway Street to Baltzel Street
Cross Street: Copeland Street to Gilmore Street
Copeland Street: Gregory Street to Monroe Street
Western Avenue: Gregory Street to Monroe Street

Project Schedule

Construction is anticipated to begin in late April 2020 and continue until early October 2020.

City of Madison Board of Public Works: Jan. 22, 2020.  
City of Madison Common Council: Feb. 4, 2020. The reconstruction project plans, specifications and schedule of assessments were approved.

The schedule of assessments were updated to reflect the removal of the proposed sidewalk from the improvement plans. The updated assessments can be seen at madison.legistar.com/legislation.aspx. Enter 59136 on the search bar to find this project.
