Beginning on Wednesday, the driveway connecting the Madison East Shopping Center with Hermina Street will be closed to motor vehicle traffic in an effort to improve conditions at the shopping center. This change was suggested at a recent meeting between business owners and supported by the mall owner and city agencies. Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained. Please contact traffic@cityofmadison.com with any questions/feedback on the closure.

Development Project Updates

The Common Council approved the proposal for Monona Drive/Cottage Grove Road last week. Demolition is planned for this fall/early winter with site prep and construction beginning in spring 2023. A new development proposal for 219 N. Fair Oaks will also be presented to the public at a meeting on July 7. I will share additional details on that proposal in a future post.

Parks Alive Worthington Park/Darbo

On Tuesday, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Parks Alive will be at Worthington Park. Parks Alive is a collaborative effort across multiple City departments and involves many community-based stakeholders and mobile resources. Parks Alive is a great opportunity for residents to come out to local parks, build community, strengthen relationships, and have fun! You can find more information here

The meeting will be held virtually with an option to connect virtually from the Pinney library meeting room. You can register for the virtual meeting at: www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingJune30VoitFarm
