2022 Capital Budget, Redistricting and Other Highlights for the Week of September 6

L’shana tova to those celebrating Rosh Hashanah this week. Due to Labor Day and Rosh Hashanah, there are less City meetings this week than usual.

2022 Executive Capital Budget

On August 31, Mayor Rhodes-Conway released the 2022 Executive Capital Budget and 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) detailing her funding proposal for buildings, infrastructure, and other capital investments for Madison. View the City’s full budget process, along with detailed budget information here. The Finance Committee will hold hearings on the Capital Budget next week (9/13 & 9/14)

Redistricting Update

Planning staff has released multiple concept plans for Aldermanic redistricting on the City's Redistricting website. Due to population growth on the west side, major changes are expected in the boundaries of District 19. You can view the estimated timeline for the City's redistricting process here. View an online map with background information and Alder District Concepts here. City administrative offices are closed on Monday, September 6, for Labor Day.

• As refugees from Afghanistan arrive in Wisconsin, many Madisonians are interested in helping to welcome and assist them.  Learn about ways to help here.

• Metro Transit has moved into Phase Two of their Network Redesign Project which focuses on examining the ‘network alternatives.’ To learn more, and to take a brief survey in English or Spanish, go here: Metro Route Redesign PHASE 2 Input.
