Project Information

Project Overview

The City is planning to resurface Starker Avenue from Woodvale Drive to Droster Road. The project includes replacing the sanitary sewer and laterals, water main, storm sewer main and inlets, full removal and replacement of the gravel base and asphalt pavement. The project also includes spot replacing driveway aprons, curb and gutter, sidewalk, improving pedestrian crossings, and installing traffic circles at the intersection of Starker Avenue and Woodvale Drive and Starker Avenue and Ellen Avenue.

Project Updates

December 12, 2024 Update

The City received the construction bids.  The next steps is for the Board of Public Works (12/18) and The Common Council (1/14) to approve the low bidder Coordination continues with private utilities (MGE, WIN) on their scope of work. Construction is planned for April-August 2025.

November 13, 2024 Update

The design is complete and the project is currently advertised for Contractor bids. Coordination continues with private utilities (MGE, WIN) on their scope of work. Construction is planned for April-August 2025.

July 23, 2024 Update

The design continues to work on final design and coordination with private utilities (MGE, WIN) on their scope of work. As that coordination continues, City Engineering has decided to move construction until 2025 and bid the project in the fall of 2024. Construction is anticipated April-August 2025.

June 7, 2024 Update

The design team is working toward final design and anticipates the project be placed for contractor bids this June. The earliest that construction may start is September 2, 2024. The contractor will have the option to construct from Vondron Road to Droster Road in 2024 or elect to construct the entire project in 2025. When a contractor has been selected, more information will be posted.
