Wexford Pond Dredging Update (June 16)

posted

The remaining orange construction fencing was removed on Friday, June 14, except for the fencing blocking the weir. Erosion control plastic remains in place on the south side of the pond outlet. Two earth movers remain on the site for final tasks.

The Contractor is finishing up some pond repairs, installing the vegetated access, replacing curb and sidewalk and restoring the site with native seed along the shoreline and disturbed areas.

Stormwater Engineering has scheduled a site walkthrough for next week to generate a final "punch list".  When items on the list are completed, the Contractor will be leaving the site permanently.

Once this Contractor is off the site, a native restoration ecologist will spot remove select invasive plants such as wild parsnip – which can cause burns on skin.  They will also be reseeding with native plants in areas where they do selective invasive removals.
