  • Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 18, in hybrid format at 6:30 p.m. Agenda items include recognizing Juneteenth, a staff presentation on the 2025 Operating Budget, approving a Certified Survey Map of property owned by Stone House Development, Inc. located at 6610-6706 Old Sauk Road, and approving the preliminary plat of the Starkweather Plat on property addressed as 3420-3614 Milwaukee Street.

Public Information Meetings

  • Public Input Meeting - Burrows Park, Thursday, June 20Madison Parks is proposing to reconstruct the parking lot, entrance drives and asphalt path in Burrows Park in 2024 and 2025. The community is invited to attend a virtual public information meeting to learn about the proposed project and provide feedback.

  • Lunch Time LIVE! 6/18: Primitive Culture, Tuesday, June 18On Tuesdays - June through August - a FREE outdoor concert series will take place from noon-1pm on the King Street walkway of the Wisconsin State Capitol. Chairs will be available, and blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the lawn nearby.

  • Financial Wellness Workshop #5, Tuesday, June 18Having debt can be debilitating. This session will help you tackle your debt head on with strategies and tools to develop a plan to pay off your debt.
  • Capitol View Farmers' Market, Wednesday, June 19 (This event occurs on multiple dates): The Capitol View Farmers' Market is held weekly on Wednesdays (3:00-7:00pm) from late May through mid-October.   • Movie in the Park, Wednesday, June 19: See the movie Shark Tale! We've partnered with Madison Boats at Marshall Park to bring you a free movie during Pontoon Palooza. You do not need to take the pontoon course to see the movie but if you bring your kids, they are welcome to watch the movie while you take the course!
  • Celebrate New Art Installation at Southwest Employment Center, Wednesday, June 19Please join the Madison Arts Commission and Urban League of Madison in celebrating the installation of a new art installation by The Artist at the Southwest Madison Employment Center. Light refreshments provided by the Friends of the Madison Arts Commission.
  • Barre3 at The Glen, Wednesday, June 19Join Madison's barre3 and Madison Parks Foundation on fairway #1 at The Glen Golf Park for a heart-pumping, joy-filled workout. To help raise money for the Madison Parks Foundation donations are suggested but not required to attend.
  • Lunch and Learn Hosted by Alder Wehelie, Thursday, June 20 (VIRTUAL)Alder Nasra Wehelie of District 7 is hosting a virtual Lunch and Learn on Thursday, June 20. Guest speakers include City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl and Municipal Clerk 1 Camille O’Connell, who will present on elections and voting.
  • Capitol City Band Open Rehearsals at 6:30 pm, Thursday, June 20:  Capitol City Band Open Rehearsals at Rennebohm Park with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine! June 20 is an open rehearsals, audiences welcome to attend rehearsals. June 27 is the opening night concert starting at 7 pm.
  • Make Music Day, Friday, June 21Join Make Music Madison on June 21st for a free, citywide music festival! Enjoy live performances at various locations around Madison as part of the international Make Music Day event. Don't miss out!

  • District 11 Book Club Discussion on Jens Jensen, Parks and Wilderness Areas, Wednesday, June 26th 7:00 pm-8:15 pm at the Sequoya Library.  Join me and my father at the Sequoya Library for another District 11 Book Club discussion to learn more about Jens Jensen and the importance of parks and wilderness areas.
