Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, June 24, in virtual format at 4:30 p.m. Agenda items include amending project plans for several Tax Incremental Districts (TID), authorizing Subordinate Water Utility Revenue Bonds, authorizing agreements for several state/municipal grants, and other matters.
  • Sustainable Madison Committee: The Sustainable Madison Committee meeting will take place on Monday, June 24, in virtual format at 4:30 p.m. Agenda items include a discussion of the Sustainable Madison Committee Ordinance Change and other matters.
  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, June 24, in virtual format at 5:30 p.m. Agenda items include consideration of a demolition permit for the removal of Fire Station #6 at 825 W Badger Road to enable development of a childcare facility for Madison College’s Goodman South campus, a zoning change at 3110 Dairy Road to Industrial-Limited, consideration of a demolition permit and conditional use permit to accommodate the expansion of the private school at 6402 Schroeder Road, and other matters.
  • Board of Public Works: The Board of Public Works meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 26, in virtual format at 4:30 p.m. Agenda items include authorizing night work with attendant noise for two projects, consideration of ordinance and policy changes related to large-item pick-up and electronic waste recycling, authorizing advertisement for bids on several public projects, and other matters.
  • Housing Strategy Committee: The Housing Strategy Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, June 25, in-person at 5:00 p.m. in Room 215 of the Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. An agenda has not yet been posted.

  • District 11 Book Club Discussion on Jens Jensen, Parks and Wilderness Areas, Wednesday, June 26th 7:00 pm-8:15 pm at the Sequoya Library.  Join me and my father at the Sequoya Library for another District 11 Book Club discussion to learn more about Jens Jensen and the importance of parks and wilderness areas. A 40 page reader is available for you to pick up at the Sequoya Library. 
  • Capital City Band Concert in the ParkOld-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine! The next concert is at Rennebohm Park, 115 N Eau Claire Avenue, 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 27.
  • Live at The GlenMadison Parks Foundation is proud to present Live at The Glen! Enjoy live music on the patio at The Glen Golf Park, 3747 Speedway Rd. The next event is Friday, June 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Vince Sweeney is a native Madisonian whose expansive song list spans decades. From Neil Young to The Beatles, from the Eagles to Dylan, Springsteen, Petty and many more, Sweeney strings together great cover songs that add up to an enjoyable evening of free live music.
  • WNA Sponsored: Summer Nights: July 3 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm Westmorland Park Shelter. Performers: VO5, No Name String Band, and David Landau. Sound by Steve Fischer.
  • 83rd Annual July 4th Celebration in Westmorland Park: Thursday, July 4th 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.  Parade begins  at 10:30 am from the Queen of Peace Parking lot.  11:00 am Flag raising near the park shelter by local Scout Troop. 11:15 am Live music by Waunakee Big Ban.
  • University Hill Farms 4th of July Celebration Picnic & Parade:  Kids and Family Parade! Registration starting at 9:30am, parade at 10:00am. Free food and beverages! Children’s games! Water balloon and egg toss!  The Fourth of July Parade is primarily for children, but all ages are welcome to enter the parade as well as to watch from the sidelines. Most participants ride bikes, but most any other mode of getting from Juneau Road to
    Rennebohm Park, including walking, is welcome. Many bike riders decorate their bikes, but undecorated bikes are just as welcome. Motorized vehicles are discouraged unless decorated as a float. A small American flag will be given to each person who registers.
