From Our Zoo Friends: Run Wild

posted

Hello,

The City recently approved the annual Run Wild permit, to learn more about this event, click here. Please plan your trips within the area accordingly. Below is additional information provided by the Zoo organizers. The permit application contains the route details.

They expect to have about 1,000 runners and walkers at this event, the majority of which will be running the 5k course. They are working with the City to make sure everyone can enjoy a safe and fun race. Police officers will help with traffic and EMS services will be on hand throughout the duration of this event.

A small portion of Monroe Street will be coned off between Edgewood Ave and Knickerbocker. Monroe Street should only be coned off until about 10am. One block of Drake St will also be coned off (only on the park side of the street) between Randall and Garfield.

They partnered with Race Day Events who have a well-established relationship with the City and extensive knowledge of street racing events in Madison. They are also working closely with the UW-Arboretum to ensure a minimal impact on their operations.
