Calendar of Important Dates

Vending Year: Begins April 15th ends the following April 14th.
January 2: Online Licensing and Permitting applicaiton portal opens
February 1: Application deadline for all existing vending licenses.
April 1: Payment Deadline
Dane County Farmers Market Season: Saturdays Only - Mid April through early November.
June 30: Health Dept. permits expire (Food & Drink, Mobile Base & Cart).
August 1: Food Cart Review applications due to Street Vending Coordinator. This is required to participate in the annual food cart review process to determine vendors eligibility to vend in the Mall/Concourse.
First Monday after Labor Day: Annual Food Cart Review for currently licensed vendors (Monday through Saturday).
Saturdays in October: Food Cart Review for new applicants. Vendors will be assigned two of the four Saturdays during the review.
- Food Review scores available approximately one to two weeks after review.
November 1: New vendors with sufficient Food Cart Review scores may begin to vend on the Mall / Concourse, site determined by Street Vending Coordinator.
Special Events That May Impact Regular Street Vending Activity:
- Safety Saturday: May
- Art Fairs On & Off the Square: July
- Maxwell Street Days: June
- Taste of Madison: Labor Day Weekend

Vending Season: University of Wisconsin home football games, usually 8 games from late August through late November.
End of June: Links to applications will be emailed to vendors on the email distribution list. Applications are available online year-round.
July 1: Applications due with payment; site assignments soon follow
