Southeast Campus Vending Area
How to Apply for a Southeast Campus Vending Area License
You must obtain the following before you can apply for a Southwest Campus Vending Area License:

Street Vendor License (required for each vendor)

Business Tax Registration:

If you do not have one already, you must create an account on the Licenses & Permits portal to fill out the application.

Please note that you must obtain a City of Madison Street Vendor License before you can apply for the Southeast Campus License.

Once you login to your account go to the Licenses/Registrations section, select Apply for a License/Registration and then choose Vending - Southeast Campus.

Complete the Southeast Campus Vending Area License Application.

Submit an insurance certificate (General liability insurance at a minimum of one million dollars, naming City of Madison as Additional Insured). Go to Insurance Requirements.
General Guidelines

Food Vendors: One food cart, table or stand, one compulsory trash receptacle (minimum capacity ten gallons), and one portable chair may be used. All other equipment or loose items are prohibited. All food carts must fit within a maximum footprint of 10 feet by 12 feet.

Non-food Vendors: One cart, stand or table and one portable chair may be used. All other equipment or loose items are prohibited.

Full Service Food Trucks at Special Events
Full service food trucks may operate in Madison only at special events and/or if licensed to vend in City of Madison parks. The maximum size for a Mall / Concourse food cart is 56 square feet. Elsewhere in Madison, the maximum size for a food cart is 10 feet by 12 feet.
Recycling Awareness
Food vendors are encouraged to use recyclable and biodegradable utensils, containers and napkins.
