Background
The City of Madison Parks Division is undertaking a master planning effort for Country Grove Park. In 2020 the Parks Division acquired approximately 12 acres of additional land on the southeast side of the park along Rockstream Drive. The master planning process will evaluate existing park uses, identify a location for a new shelter, and identify uses for the recently acquired land.
Country Grove Park is classified as a community park, totaling 43.84 acres of land. Community parks focus on meeting the community-based recreation needs, as well as preserving landscapes and open spaces. The original park land was acquired in 1993, with additional land acquired in 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2020. Parks staff will hold public meetings to gather input from the community on the future of Country Grove Park. Once the master plan has been developed with the neighborhood, the plan will go to the Board of Park Commissioners for approval.
