District 13 Updates for the Week of July 8
postedHi Everyone,
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
Here are this week's updates.
The Finance Committee meets today at 4:30. Among the items we'll be discussing is a proposed change in the city's Large Item Collection and Electronic Waste RecyclingPpolicy. You may find out more about this agenda item here.
Madison Public Library Board: The Madison Public Library Board meeting will take place on Thursday, July 11, in Room 301 of the Central Library (201 W. Mifflin St.) at 5:00 p.m. Agenda items include a discussion of the 2025 budget outlook and budget scenarios.
Let me be up front. Given the fiscal challenges we're facing with the city's structural deficit, the fate of the Monroe Street Library is an open question.

Lastly...
Yesterday, I attended poetry reading featuring my neighbor and friend, Catherine Jagoe. Catherine read from her new book, Praying to the God of Small Things.
It was splendid. I highly recommend you purchasing a copy!
Take care and stay safe,
