Fire at Southwest-Side Home Under Investigation

Ladder 7 responded to Mount Vernon Court for a report of fire at the address. Someone met firefighters outside and explained the fire was out. Ladder 7 located the area where the fire occurred and confirmed there was no active fire. All other responding MFD units were returned.

Firefighters ventilated smoke from the home and continued the fire investigation. Residents were moved to rooms unaffected by smoke and extinguisher dust. 

The MFD Fire Investigation Team and the Madison Police Department were called to examine whether the fire may have been intentional. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
