The City of Madison Fire Department is a nationally recognized leader in providing emergency services. We are committed to providing high quality, essential services in our community and throughout the Madison metropolitan area as our resources extend outside the city limits on a daily basis.

The members of the Department are its most valuable resource and make the Department a leader in so many respects. Our members work hard every day to meet the needs of the City of Madison residents and visitors. Providing superior customer service is our number one goal.

The City of Madison Fire Department provides much more to the community than just fire suppression. The Department is an active leader in Emergency Medical Services, as well as several specialty teams including Hazardous Material, Lake Rescue and Heavy Urban Rescue. Supplementing the emergency services, the Department provides progressive, cutting-edge fire prevention and community education programs.

The City of Madison is an ISO Class 1 city thanks to the public's continued investment in a progressive fire department, robust and reliable water utility service, and technology-advanced emergency communications center.
