
What We Could Lose: Medicaid and Other Programs for People with Disabilities – Event Update
On March 5, 2025, we hosted a hybrid event as an opportunity for community members to gain valuable information about Medicaid and other federally funded programs that serve people with disabilities such as special education, vocational services, housing vouchers, and SNAP. Our goal was for residents to be able to ask questions and share about the importance of these services with each other and their elected officials.
Unfortunately, we experienced disturbances in our online platform and had to cancel the virtual portion of the event. Despite this, we persisted and continued the event for our in-person audience. We share gratitude to Representative Subeck, Jason Beloungy, and Alder Currie for helping our in-person residents gain information, be heard, and become empowered.
We deeply regret what happened. It is important to us that our residents have access to information and can gather as a community around topics important to them. We know this is a tremendous need.
