Criminal Intake Unit

Criminal Intake Unit or CIU is staffed by four Detectives. The mission of the Criminal Intake Unit (CIU) is to review all non-traffic related criminal arrests prior to referral to the Dane County District Attorney's Office. CIU will ensure that each case is complete with all the requisite paperwork and elements so that the DA's Office can make an informed decision as to whether or not a person should be issued a criminal charge.
