Details: Join us for a Town Hall led by Alder Sabrina Madison and the Sandburg Area Neighborhood Association to discuss the Imagination Center at Reindahl Park. Get informed about the current budget threats, educate yourself on the library’s benefits, ask questions, and learn how to advocate effectively to support this important community resource

Staff from the Library, Finance, Parks, and other agencies will present information and be available to answer questions. 

Invited attendees include Madison’s Common Council, the Mayor's Office, and Wisconsin State Legislators.

The proposed “Imagination Center at Reindahl Park” will not be an ordinary library. It will be a transformational space designed and directed by the northeast Madison community.

Events

  • Partisan Primary Election Day, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, 7:00am – 8:00pm: Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
  • Lunch Time LIVE! 8/13: Mark Croft Duo, Tuesday, August 13: Chairs or walls may be used for balance assistance. On Tuesdays - June through August - a FREE outdoor concert series will take place from noon-1pm on the King Street walkway of the Wisconsin State Capitol. Chairs will be available, and blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the lawn nearby.
  • Rooftop Movie Night: Across the Universe (PG-13), Tuesday, August 13: Come and enjoy a movie on the beautiful rooftop of Monona Terrace. Chairs and concessions will be made available. Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair, and food and beverage. (No alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Free and Open to Public.
  • Capitol View Farmers' Market, Wednesday, August 14: The Capitol View Farmers' Market is held weekly on Wednesdays (3:00-7:00pm) from late May through mid-October. Join us each week for great local vendors, live music, food carts, and special activities from week to week. Visit our website and follow us on social media for the most up-to-date information and schedules! (Location: far Eastside of Madison, near the Great Dane Eastside, 5901 Sharpsburg Dr.)
  • Capitol City Band Concert in the Park, Thursday, August 15: Old-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
  • Dane Dances: Funkee Jbeez / Orquesta Salsoul del Mad, Friday, August 16: Dane Dances is a free, family-friendly event held every Friday evening in August on the beautiful Monona Terrace rooftop. The much-anticipated summer music series promotes inclusivity for all ages and is a great way to get down and dance with your friends, family, or coworkers.

Parks Alive Dates!

Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music and free food. Events are held in parks across the city and throughout the summer. Connect with your neighbors and engage with your community at a Parks Alive event near you! Events start at 5:00 p.m.
