Meeting and Event Highlights for the Week of August 12, 2024
postedIn the D19
- Gammon Rd - Watt Rd Intersection: This is a project to improve safety at the Watts Road and Gammon Road intersection begins August 12. The project includes realigning the left turn lanes on Gammon Road for better driver visibility, updating the traffic signal infrastructure, adding high visibility crosswalks, and improving the pedestrian curb ramps at the intersection. This work is partially funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s “Highway Safety Improvement Program” due to the higher-than-average crash rate and the types of crashes occurring at the intersection. During construction, all turning movements will be maintained, but traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, which will cause travel delays. Drivers should use alternate routes, if possible, especially during peak travel times.
Spring Harbor Watershed Study: The next public information meeting for this watershed is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Aug. 27, 2024, via Zoom. Prior registration is required.
