AMA (Ask ME Anything) is a popular tool to reach people via social media. Register to speak with the budget experts!

The City of Madison is hosting an AMA — “Ask Me Anything” — virtual public meeting on the 2025 budget and funding referendum. It will be held on Wednesday, September 11 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Madison Finance Director Dave Schmiedicke and staff from the Mayor’s Office will be answering questions about the City budget. You can submit your questions ahead of time or during the meeting. Register for the event

About Dave:
“David Schmiedicke is a career budget and finance professional with over 30 years of experience in Wisconsin state and local government and is currently the Finance Director for the City of Madison, Wisconsin. David was appointed by Governors of both parties to serve as State Budget Director and Deputy State Budget Director from 2001 to 2011. Prior to that, he was the administrator of the State of Wisconsin Building Program, served as Secretary of the State Building Commission, and was a team leader and analyst in the State Budget Office. He began his career as a budget and management analyst with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
 
David has served on the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Budget Officers and as Chair of the Governmental Budget and Fiscal Policy Committee of the Government Finance Officers Association. He is currently a member of the GFOA Committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning and the US Conference of Mayors Representative to the State and Local Advisory Council of the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board.”
