Meet Division Chief Lisa Becher

Division Chief Lisa Becher

Tell us about your role as Division Chief of Mobile Integrated Health.

I work a lot with our department's CARES program, which is a resource for behavioral health emergencies. CARES 3 began service in April 2024, and we hope to have CARES responding into Sun Prairie by the end of the year. I also work a lot with our Peer Support Team, which focuses on mental health within the fire department and the importance of working on your mental health in this field of work.

What is an achievement you are proud of?

I am most proud of my long career as a paramedic. Even as a chief I continue to keep my paramedic license because of how much I enjoy it. EMS is the base of what we do and I plan to retire with my paramedic license. Out of all the school and training I have been through, paramedic school was the hardest thing I have completed. I also believe this is the most rewarding job I could ever have despite the challenges that come with it; it truly is such an amazing job.

How do you spend your time when you are off duty?

When off duty, I love spending time with my teenagers and spending time outside! I like to attend sporting events (especially when my kids are playing), as well as live music events, camping trips, hiking, gardening, etc. And lastly, an uncommon fact about myself is that I love black licorice!
