Update: Edgewood Public Information Meeting & Local School Supplies Drives

posted

Greetings,

Here are a couple of new updates:

Residents are invited to a public information meeting to discuss the application for a license to serve alcohol on the Edgewood campus. Edgewood currently has such a license, but this new application is for a third-party operator to take over the license with some changes. Of particular concern to nearby residents is the request to serve alcohol at special outdoor events serving up to 500 people.

The public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 31st, 7:00 PM, on the Edgewood College Campus (1000 Edgewood College Dr) in the Heritage Room which is located in the Regina Hall Building. This room is directly across from the cafeteria.

You may read up on the application here, which was re-referred to the Alcohol License Review Committee to be taken up at their next meeting on  August 21.

It's that time of year! Local school supply drives are kicking off!

I've been reminded that alders are not allowed to post fundraisers for organizations, even if the ask is not specifically monetary.

Please note, however, that several area organizations are indeed holding school supplies drives, including some in District 13, and consider offering your support.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Take care and stay safe.
