Halloween Activities

Trick-or-Treating

The City of Madison does not have official Trick-or-Treating hours.
Recommended hours: 4:00pm – 8:00pm on October 31.

Trick-or-Treating Safety

Make sure your costume is visible to vehicles and others.
Do not use toy weapons as part of any costume.
Only trick or treat with people you live with.
Stay on sidewalks, and obey traffic signs.
Carry a flashlight.
Don’t eat any candy until an adult can check it for you.
Make sure costumes do not impede movement or vision.

Downtown Madison Family Halloween

Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Location: State Street and Capitol Square

Trick-or-treating for young children and their families, ages 12 and under.

Hayrides around the Capitol Square

Tour the Capitol Square with Madison Parks aboard a haywagon!
