Halloween Activities

Trick-or-Treating

The City of Madison does not have official Trick-or-Treating hours.
Recommended hours: ​4:00pm – 8:00pm on October 31.

Trick-or-Treating Safety

  • Make sure your costume is visible to vehicles and others.
  • Do not use toy weapons as part of any costume.
  • Only trick or treat with people you live with.
  • Stay on sidewalks, and obey traffic signs.
  • Carry a flashlight.
  • Don’t eat any candy until an adult can check it for you.
  • Make sure costumes do not impede movement or vision.

Downtown Madison Family Halloween

Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Location: State Street and Capitol Square

Trick-or-treating for young children and their families, ages 12 and under.
