Annual Grant Guidelines

The Madison Arts Commission (MAC) provides grants to artists, and arts organizations. There are three types of grants: project, legacy, and individual fellowship. All grants use the same guidelines & application. You may only submit one application per year for one of the three grant categories. We rarely fund grants at the full amount due to limited resources. Grants are not paid until the project is complete.

MAC seeks applications for projects that do one or more of the following:

1. Engage Madison residents in arts and cultural activities
2. Expand an artist’s body of work or reach in the community
3. Give the community an opportunity to participate in the creative process
4. Provide PK-12 students with arts activities in or after school
5. Reach diverse or under-served communities
6. Celebrate identity, a group, or neighborhood.
