Cancellation Policies
HR-Organizational Development Course Cancellation Standards
- Minimum Registrant Requirement: Our courses require a minimum of 10 registrants to proceed. Registration numbers are closely monitored throughout the year to ensure this requirement is met.
- Cancellation or Rescheduling: In the event that the minimum of 10 registrants is not met, the course may be subject to cancellation or rescheduling at the discretion of the facilitator.
- Purpose: This policy is in place in an effort to be good stewards of our resources by respecting the time commitments of our facilitators who (most of which) also maintain full-time jobs with the City of Madison. Additionally, we want to ensure optimal class sizes for effective learning and collaboration for all of our learners.

If you're a participant, here's how to cancel your registration...
It is the responsibility of the registrant to remove themselves from the EventBrite registration list, or notify Organizational Development of a cancellation of a course enrollment as soon as possible.
How to cancel your registration in EventBrite:
- Open your confirmation email
- Navigate to the bottom of the message to “Manage My Events”
- Select the event name that you’d like to cancel
- Click the “Cancel Order” button

If you're a facilitator who needs to cancel a course you're scheduled to teach...
Please contact OrganizationalDevelopment@cityofmadison.com to cancel a
course you're teaching prior to taking any action. If possible, please notify us at
least 24 hours in advance of your course start day/time. This will allow our team enough time to ensure all parties who have registered are properly notified, and that back-end course settings are updated to reflect the cancellation or reschedule as needed.
