Internal Audit and Grants

Welcome to the City of Madison Internal Audit and Grants page. 

Internal Audit: The function is responsible for developing and administering the City’s comprehensive internal audit programs including evaluating the internal control systems, the efficiency and effectiveness with which City’s agencies perform its programs as approved by the Common Council, identifies ways to improve City services and operations, reduce, avoid, or recover costs; and make recommendations that strengthens and promotes city government accountability.

Grants:  In order for the City of Madison to provide the highest quality of service for the common good of our residents and visitors, city staff and administrators are encouraged to explore external funding opportunities, or grants, to extend pre-existing services, introduce new initiatives, gain technological advances, subsidize programmatic staffing, or support innovative projects, programs and activities.
