Boarding with Fast Fares

commute card - reader

Tap your card on Metro’s new fare readers every time you board!

When you board a Metro bus, simply:

  • Find the closest fare reader. Readers are located at every door of the bus - front, middle and rear.
  • Look for the contactless payment symbol on the reader. You can also run your hands along the edge of the reader and find the small, closely spaced bumps. Some readers are installed vertically, others are horizontal.
  • Tap your Fast Fare card and wait for the screen to turn green and you hear the "BEEP!"
  • Find your favorite spot and enjoy the ride!

  4. Riders must create a Fast Fare account to be eligible for reduced fare pricing (youth, senior, disabled, low income).
